India's batting mainstay Sachin Tendulkar once again overtook Sri Lankan master blaster Sanath Jayasuriya to become most capped player in ODIs by appearing in his 404th one day match, against Pakistan, in Mohali today.

Before this match, both Tendulkar and Jayasuriya were levelled, having played 403 ODIs, and the Mumbaikar is set to extend his lead as India play three more ODIs against Pakistan.

While they have been playing catching up game in the shorter version, 34-year-old Tendulkar has a distinct lead over Jayasuriya in Tests, having played 140 matches, compared to Jayasuriya's 108th which is underway at Brisbane.
