Former BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya today visited ailing captain Rahul Dravid at a local hospital in Ahmedabad."We hope that Dravid gets better soon. The team needs him," Dalmiya told reporters after emerging from the Rajasthan Hospital. Dalmiya spent about five minutes with Dravid, who is recovering from gastroenteritis, which forced him to miss the ongoing third Test against Lanka here. Yesterday, BCCI president Sharad Pawar had called on Dravid at the hospital. Meanwhile, doctors attending to Dravid said he was well on his way to recovery. "Dravid is fine but just a bit weak. We cannot say for certain when he will be discharged. The team officials will also visit him today and then any decision would be taken," the doctor said. Dravid, who had played 94 Tests on the trot before this ailment caused him to skip this match, had not been keeping too well ever since the start of the second Test against the Lankans at Delhi. He had skipped net-practice in Ahmedabad and was admitted to the hospital on Sunday. in-depth coverage > India-Sri Lanka Test Series 2005 > |
