Indian skipper Rahul Dravid is down with gastroenteritis and is a doubtful starter for the third cricket Test against Sri Lanka starting in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
"Dravid was taken to a local hospital at around 11.30 pm last night. A final decision on his availability for the third Test would be made at around 6 pm," Indian team's media manager Wing Commander Baladitya said.
"The skipper complained of vomiting, chillness, throat infection and body ache and was put on an intravenous drip at the hospital," Baladitya said.
However, he had a peaceful sleep and is much better now, the media manager said.
"Rahul is hopeful of taking semi-solid food by this afternoon," Baladitya said.
Doctors are constantly monitoring his condition and will tell the team management if Dravid could play in the Test match.
If he is to play tomorrow, Dravid would have to be discharged from the hospital this evening, Baladitya said.
