Pakistan Cricket Board has expressed hope that the removal of Natwar Singh from the External Affairs Ministry would not affect Karachi's claim for hosting a Test and one-day international when the Indian cricket team tours the country next year."Mr. Natwar Singh and myself are old friends but I strongly believe that his removal would not hamper Karachi's stakes and the port city would host a Test and one-dayer against India," PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan told a news agency from Lahore. Singh and Khan are friends from their Oxford University days and the PCB was confident that the External Affairs Ministry would give go-ahead to the Indian Cricket Board to play both shorter and longer versions of the game in Karachi. But now the Ministry would remain under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh until someone is appointed in Natwar Singh's place. "When I last met Mr. Natwar Singh (in Islamabad last month), he told me that the Indian Sports Minister would decide the fate of Karachi.
