The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will take up the issue of the six-match ban imposed on Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly during the ICC's Executive and CEO's meetings to be held in London from June 24 to 29, BCCI secretary S K Nair said today."We are going to take up the issue strongly. The BCCI working committee meeting held here earlier this month had decided to pursue the matter vigorously as the board is of the view that the six-ban match was a severe step," Nair said in Thiruvananthapuram. Ganguly was banned for six one-day internationals by ICC match referee Chris Broad after he was found guilty for his side's slow over rate during the one-day series against Pakistan. The Asian Cricket Council meeting would also be held alongwith the ICC executive meet, Nair said. BCCI President Ranbir Singh Mahendra and the Board Secretary would be representing the country in the ICC meet. Nair said he would be leaving for London on June 22. in-depth coverage > India-Pakistan Cricket Series 2005 > |
