Inzamam said his team was, in fact, so high on confidence after the recent performance in Asia Cup that it was looking forward to taking on India in upcoming tournaments. "I think we have had a positive change of mood in the team. Bob (Woolmer) has introduced some new training and other routines in which the boys are taking a lot of interest. I am confident we will do well in the coming tournaments where we again play India," said the skipper. Pakistan salvaged some pride with a crushing win against India in the Super League stage. And although India sneaked through to the final, edging out Pakistan on bonus point, Inzamam's men had one more win under their belt than Sourav Ganguly and his boys. The subcontinental rivals will face-off each other again when they meet in a triangular one day series alongwith Australia in Amstelveen, Holland, in late August and then again in the ICC Champions Trophy in England in September. Pakistan will then fly down to Kolkata on November 14 where they take on the hosts in a one-day international, which is a part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Indian Cricket Board. Inzamam said he would be looking for an all-rounder while making preparations for the coming events as the team needed someone who could bat at any position and also bowl when required as a sixth bowler. "I think we need another all-rounder to strike the right balance in our team. Otherwise I am very happy at the way we have performed in this competition," Inzamam was quoted as saying by local daily 'The News' in Islamabad today. in-depth coverage > India-Pakistan Cricket Series 2004 > |
