Khan told state PTV that he informed Miandad few days ago that the Board was looking for a "highly professionalised, technological computer oriented coach for the team." Miandad was replaced by former England cricketer Bob Woolmer as coach yesterday by the Board. "We feel high level advanced coach is required. I want to clarify that there is no question of sacking him or putting him out because of certain flaws that have emerged during the Indian series," he said. The PCB chief said the decision was taken knowing fully well Miandad's contribution to Pakistan cricket and the respect and prestige he gets in the country. Meanwhile, PCB said Woolmer would arrive in Lahore on June 2 to take charge while the fitness camp for the probables for Asia Cup would begin on June 28. in-depth coverage > India-Pakistan Cricket Series 2004 > |
