Rasheed, who met PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan on Sunday in Karachi, submitted his detailed report as requested by the Board since it is not customary for a team manager to submit a report on a home series and he only does this after an away series, a Board official was quoted as saying by the local daily 'The News'. "Haroon has advised against pressing the panic button and taking hasty decisions... as changes in the team will not produce anything constructive as this is the best possible team that Pakistan can have at the moment after the retirement of several senior players," the official said. Rasheed, himself a former Test batsman, had held discussions with Shaharyar on the team and its future plans, he said. The team manager backed the present team to do well in future and pointed out that since the 2003 World Cup when the rebuilding process began the players had done well against every country. in-depth coverage > India-Pakistan Cricket Series 2004 > |
