"The tickets were meant for specific purposes and used only for them... Each and every ticket is being accounted for now," Raja said reacting to the reports that the PCB was yet to reconcile tickets valued at Rs 18.6 million which their officials, including the Chairman and CEO, took from the consultant and his team who were responsible for ticket sales. "Apart from the tickets given to the teams and match officials and under the contractual obligations to sponsors, not a single ticket was given away free of cost," Raja was quoted as saying by the 'The News'. "The reconcilement is not an easy process, it is a long one. Our accountants and auditors are getting final figures from different sources like the consultants, banks and booths." The Board netted an income of approximately 65 million from ticket sales and the figures do not include the 18.6 million to be reconciled by the Board, the newspaper report said. The 18.6 million figure relates to only Rs 1,200 and Rs 1,500 denomination tickets taken by board officials during the one-dayers. in-depth coverage > India-Pakistan Cricket Series 2004 > |
