Pak experience one of the best: Ganguly 13.05 IST 04th May 2004
By IndiaExpress Bureau
Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly said on Monday that despite some prior apprehensions, the Pakistan tour turned out to be one of the "best series" for him.
"It was a good experience for us. We were really worried before embarking on the tour, but once we landed there all apprehensions disappeared. After being there for over a month, I feel that the tour turned out to be one of the best series for me," Ganguly said at his felicitation ceremony organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Kolkata.
Responding to a query on his success formula which made him the most successful captain of India , Ganguly said, "It is not just the captain who makes up the team. All the 14 players in the squad play crucial roles. I am very lucky to get a very good bunch of cricketers at my disposal."
Ganguly named Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag and V V S Laxman as great influences on the team.
