Kumble set to return for finals against the Aussies 12.29 IST 04th Feb 2004
By IndiaExpress Bureau
Anil Kumble, who needs just one more wicket to go past the record of Javagal Srinath as the leading wicket-taker for India in one-dayers (315), is expected to return from a shoulder injury for the opening match of the best-of-three Tri-series finals against Australia on Friday in Melbourne.
Kumble has not played since his side's 24-run victory over Zimbabwe in Brisbane on January 20 because of the injury.
He sat out India's last two one-day matches in Perth including Tuesday's four-wicket win over Zimbabwe at the WACA Ground.
Kumble played in India's opening four matches of the Tri-series, taking two wickets at an average of 95.5.
