Describing Sachin Tendulkar as the "Kohinoor", legendary cricketer Mushtaq Ali has said the batting maestro's technical skill and strokeplay has made modern-day cricket worth watching."The original Kohinoor may be resting in England but we have our own Kohinoor -- Sachin Tendulkar," Mushtaq, a member of India's first cricket team, said in Indore. Praising Tendulkar for playing a technically perfect game, Mushtaq said the presence of such a great batsman was necessary to "restore the beauty of the sport." Mushtaq, a stroke-player himself during his playing days, said it would have been interesting to see how Tendulkar reacted to the challenge of facing the feared West Indian fast bowlers of the 80's. "Sunil Gavaskar got the chance to face better quality bowlers (from West Indies) during his time. But Sachin has never played them. I would have loved to see him play against such great fast bowlers", he said. Mushtaq, who played in 11 Tests and scored 612 runs, believed that the current Indian team under captain Sourav Ganguly had the potential to be the best side in the world. "Our present team is quite good with players like Tendulkar, Ganguly and Dravid shouldering the responsibility.
