By IndiaExpress Bureau

The Indian cricket team, which lost to the awesome Australians in the World Cup final in South Africa on Sunday, flew into Mumbai on Tuesday morning.

The team, which landed at 0900 IST at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, was accorded a traditional welcome.

Among the others who came by same flight were NCP president Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya and former cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Gundappa Vishwanath.

The team was originally supposed to come on Wednesday. However, there was a change in the programme at the instance of the team’s sponsor, the Sahara Group.
