Cricket fever grips Indian politicians 17.37 IST 15th Mar 2003
By IndiaExpress Bureau
The ongoing World Cup cricket wave sweeping across the country seems to have gripped the Indian politicians, too.
With the Indian team’s performance in the World Cup improving with every match, politicians in the country are thinking of going to South Africa for the team’s semi-final and hopefully the final match too.
According to a leading newspaper, Laloo Yadav will lead Parliamentary team to South Africa for the semi-finals on March 19.
Other MPs who have confirmed their plans to travel to South Africa around March 21 before the finals include Prem Gupta, Prafulla Patel, Suresh Kalmadi and Vijay Darda.
In fact, Air India is being asked to operate a special flight on the eve of the semi-finals on March 19. A 210-seater Airbus will be flown specially to ferry cricket enthusiasts.
