And Disney World could be one of the venues! The United States does not boast of any cricket infrastructure worth the name. Still, the ICC wants to cash in on the economic power. Hence the plan to stage several matches in the United States. Understandably, some officials from the Caribbean islands have not taken kindly to the ICC plans. They think that the ICC move would deprive West Indies of a chance to stage many matches. ICC spokesman Mark Harrison said the organizers would seek bids from countries and islands which want to host matches in 2007. The US figures in the list and there are chances of matches being staged there. World Cup 2007 organizer Chris Dehring, who will decide on the venues, said slotting some games for the US could prove beneficial for the sport in the long run. "The ICC have objectives for (developing cricket in) the US and, as a member of the international cricket community, we would naturally look at supporting the ICC's objectives.
