Indian captain Sourav Ganguly gave the mediapersons a slip as he left from Mumbai airport's rear exit after the beleaguered Indian team landed in the early hours in the city today from their disastrous tour of New Zealand. However, when contacted on his cellphone, Ganguly said, "I have spoken enough to the media. The series has ended. There is nothing much that I can say." Ganguly then boarded a flight to Kolkata. The Indian team returned from the 43-day tour of New Zealand after losing the test series 0-2 and the one-day series 2-5. Sachin Tendulkar too left from the side exit while the Indian vice-captain Rahul Dravid and his Karnataka teammates Javagal Srinath and Anil Kumble had earlier got off at Bangalore. However, all-rounder Sanjay Bangar told reporters that things did not go as planned but the players were in a positive state of mind and were looking forward to the forthcoming world cup in South Africa from February 8. Others who landed in Mumbai were Ajit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh. in-depth coverage > Indian Cricket Team's New Zealand Tour > |
