They warned that stringent conditions would deter the top players from participating in major ICC tournaments. "The current terms will stop the best players from participating in the best tournaments. It is not a very healthy situation," Tim May, chief executive of the Federation of International Cricketers Associations, told reporters in Colombo. May, who is a former Australian cricketer, said ICC's current sponsorship policy placed the player in a "particularly nasty and almost impossible situation". The cricketers held a meeting in Colombo on Thursday night and felt that they were under no obligation to sign the Players' Terms, he said.
