India confident on eve of crucial Kanpur one-dayer 20.43 IST 27th Jan 2002
By IndiaExpress Bureau
Enthused by its morale-boosting win at Chennai, India take on England in the fourth one-dayer at Kanpur on Monday. India is leading the 6-match series by 2-1.
The three matches so far have been far closer than expected, and India's two wins have not been as comprehensive as they would have liked them to be.
English players have made the Indians work extremely hard for their victories.
India has dropped middle order batsman VVS Laxman for the rest of the series. His place has gone to talented young batsman from Uttar Pradesh Mohammed Kaif.
Indian think tank is trying to work out a plan to tackle the visitors who have undoubtedly been the better team as far as strategies and their meticulous execution are concerned.
They need to work on fielding and the middle order batting, which have been a disappointment so far in this series.
