The match is a day-night affair. India beat England in test series by 1-0. Indian team will go into the match with a new wicket-keeper, Ajay Ratra, who will make his debut on January 19. Another player who could make his debut on Saturday is all rounder Sanjay Bangar. The 29-year old Railway player has shown a lot of potential in the domestic cricket. On paper, the Indians once again start favourites despite the absence of Rahul Dravid, who is undergoing treatment for a shoulder injury in South Africa. Once again, India will depend on batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar and out-of-form captain Sourav Ganguly. VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag are the other batsmen Indian team will look up to for delivering the goods. On the other hand, English captain Nasser Hussain seems to be going the Steve Waugh by starting a psychological war describing the Indians as chokers in one-day matches. The Chennai-born English captain leads a relatively inexperienced side but during the test series they proved that they are capable of putting up a good performance. in-depth coverage > India England Cricket Series > |
