Salman shifted to Crime Branch cell 16.15 IST 08th Oct 2002
By IndiaExpress Bureau
Bollywood star Salman Khan, who was remanded to police custody in connection with a hit and run case, has been shifted from Santa Cruz lock up to the Crime Branch cell at Crawford Market in central Mumbai on Monday night.
The step would enable the police to interrogate the actor, who has been charged with culpable homicide, police said.
They also said the actor kept to himself most of the time and refused to interact with the rest of the inmates, they said.
As his lawyer has not made any application for home food, Salman would not be provided with it.
Joint Commissioner (Law and Order) Ahmad Javed said the actor would be treated as an ordinary inmate.
The actor, who underwent the mandatory health check-up at Bhabha Hospital, was taken to Santa Cruz prison Monday evening from where he was shifted to Crawford Market.
