| Delhi girl crowned Femina Miss India 2002 17.10 IST 20th Jan 2002

Delhi beauty Neha Dhupia won the Femina Miss India 2002 contest at a glittering function in Hyderabad on Saturday night.
The 21-year-old Miss Delhi impressed with a judicious blend of beauty and brains in capturing the coveted crown at the star-studded function at the NAC grounds.
As the night of glitz and glamour wore on, Mumbai’s Shruti Sharma received the Fa-Femina’s Miss India World title while Kolkata’s Rashmi Ghosh was crowned Miss India-Earth.
Gauhar Khan from Pune and another Delhi girl Tina Chhatwal were crowned the first and second runners-up respectively.
The victorious Neha, a graduate from Jesus and Mary College said India’s population was a big advantage as “more people mean more minds and more progress for the country.”
