Wipro Infotech scuttles Apple division

APPLE's Largest distributor Wipro. has shrugged its exclusive arm for selling Macs -the Apple division in order to prevade the country's budding multimedia toto. The presence of the division had entailed wipro with the burden of pushing only Macs. along with software written for Macs. But now the colossal computer corporate has floated an entirely new division. whose thrust is to provide the entire gamut of solution for multimedia. across all platforms.

According to industry estimates Wipro's erstwhile Apple division contributed to over 50 percent of all Apple machines sold in the country. raking in about Rs 55 crore to the group. This marked a quantum leap of 96.5 percent over the previous year's revenues of Rs 28 crore.
