Fish in Coconut Peanut Gravy

Ingrediets:

1 kg fish (pomfret)
250 gms peanuts
2 tsps chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
4 oinons, 2 cloves garlic
2 tbsps tamarind pulp
3/4 cup coconut milk
1 tsp vinegar
oil as needed
salt to taste

Method:

Grind garlic, turmeric, salt and chilli powder. Clean and slice the fish. Apply the masala paste to fish pieces. Leave aside for a while. Deep fry the fish pieces to a golden brown colour. Heat 5 tbsps oil and fry chopped onions till golden brown. Add coconut milk, tamarind pulp and salt. Add roasted powdered peanuts. Cook till gravy is thick and creamy. Add vinegar and pour the gravy over the fried fish. Serve hot.
