Like Being Outdoors Indoors One has to go on a wild goose chase to find space for parking in Bangalore. Parking really bugs the hell out of Mukul when he goes to review a joint. But this time when he visited Capitol Hotel, he was happy and felt relieved to find fat outdoor parking field on the grounds of the hotel apart from the underground parking space. Then he sat in the vast, spacious, and well-lit coffee shop which is located in the main atrium of the hotel. Mukul says it's almost like being outdoors indoors with the roof being as high as the building itself. Let's hear it from Mukul about this coffee shop which not only serves you that mandatory coffee and sundry refreshments but also serves Continental, Indian and Chinese food during lunch (12.30 to 3 pm) times.
The seer fish fry starter shoul be had by shoalfuls in my opinion. In comparison the non-veg and veg kabab platters fade from memory. The murg badami is another if calories don't count in your scheme of things. It they do, stick to the paneer mutter, makai kumbh palak and dal maharani with either vegetable pullao or an assorted roti ki tokri. Not too heavy, generally non-oily and nowhere near the cholesterol limit unless you decide to mop up the proceedings with what something called a "Brown Derby" - doughnut topped with ice-cream and scattered with fruit - as we did, followed by black coffee.
Try it; the prices are reasonable enough with nothing over Rs 140 except for three prawn items and most snacks, soups, starters and deserts hovering around Rs 50.
For vegetarians too there's lots to choose from. Including the omniscient, ever-present and wise gob i Manchurian in a brand new avatar - cauliflower Manchurian.
