Gone are those days when one has to go all the way to the restaurant and dine. Just grab the phone and order, within a few minutes steaming hot food will be at your doorstep. But only thing is your abode should be within 2 kms radius from the place you order or simple, just rent a house within the vicinity (Hey! just kidding). So, this time Mukul decided to have home deliveries from Kabab Korner and Taipan. We will dine with him at his `home sweet home'.
The voice over the phone was friendly and polite. It inquired how many of us were going to eat and then made suggestions, repeated the order, took down the address and telephone number and the food arrived within half an hour - well packed in foil, plastic boxes and bags .... and was hot.
Kabab Korner On one occasion, this consisted of Seekh Kababs, Mutton Biryani, Paneer Mattar Capsicum, Raitha and Roomali Roti and another time of Chicken Kabab Rolls, Peas Pullau, Sag Meat, Mushroom Masala and Tandoori Paratha. All standard fare - if a little expensive - ranging from the absolutely ordinary to pretty darn good (the seekhs for instance) with reasonable portions and, mercifully, not swimming in oil. It's also per fect for those sudden guests who stray in around dinner time.
Note that though the name suggests a profusion of fleshy delights, they also serve a vastish range of vegetarian fare and Chinese specialities.

Similar user-friendly ordering procedure and after-sales even though they've only started home deliveries about six months ago. As usual I started using this place like any Indian-Chinese food boor who thinks life begins with Mixed Fried Rice and ends at Chicken Noodles with Sweet and Sour Pork and Chilli Fish filling in the blank taste buds in between till friend K Jayasimha gently suggested the Crab Hot Garlic Sauce. It's easily the best thing they make and one of the finest preparations of the animal I've eaten anywhere. (A close second to the Barbecue Pork Spare Ribs). Most of the rest of the food is, well, very often quite close to nice. But the good thing is the plentiful portions they give. I invariably I'm snacking off most of the stuff till late into the next day.
