
MYSORE BONDA[Mysore Style]
Ingredients
2 cups urdal dal
2 tbsps fresh coconut pieces, cut into tiny slices.
4 green chillies
a pinch of asafoetida
a pinch of soda bicarb
a few curry leaves
oil as needed
salt to taste
Method
* Soak urad dal in water for 8 hours.
* Clean and grind to a dry, smooth paste
* Add chopped green chillies, asafoetida, coconut pieces, soda bicarb, curry leaves and salt.
* Add two tablespoons hot oil. Mix thoroughly.
* Heat oil for deep frying. Make small lemon sized balls and deep fry into bondas.
* Remove each batch and drain. Serve with chutney or sambhar.
